The date of August 15 has been repeatedly highlighted as a target for potential crossings, with interested individuals encouraged to join private WhatsApp groups to exchange information and coordinate their travel plans. In response to the ongoing crisis, the Moroccan Interior Ministry has acknowledged the role of social media in this situation, criticizing the spread of misinformation that has accompanied these calls. However, as of the evening of August 8, the ministry had not responded to inquiries from RFI. Meanwhile, security forces in Fnideq and around the Ceuta border crossing have reportedly been significantly bolstered, with numerous vehicles of security personnel being seen in the area. This information was confirmed by a representative of the Moroccan human rights association AMDH in Tétouan.
