Overview of the Civil Protection Recruitment Competition 2026
The General Directorate of Civil Protection (DGPC) is organizing a recruitment competition for a total of 16 positions. This includes 4 State Engineers in the first grade and 12 Technicians in the third grade. The deadline for submitting applications is set for October 5, 2026, with the competition scheduled to take place on October 25, 2026.
While many associate Civil Protection primarily with firefighting and road accident rescue, its scope of action extends far beyond these responsibilities. The organization is tasked with addressing various natural risks, including earthquakes, floods, and locust invasions, as well as human-induced risks such as toxic gas leaks, the transport of hazardous materials, transport accidents, pollution, and dam failures.
According to decree No. 2.08.159 dated January 16, 2009 (Article 36), the DGPC is defined as a national body for reflection, research, study, consultation, and intervention, aiming to protect people and property under all circumstances. Affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior, it provides assistance to the population during disasters and everyday accidents through specialized human and material resources.
The primary mission of Civil Protection is to respond and provide assistance. It combats disasters, particularly fires, and coordinates rescue efforts during major catastrophes. Additionally, it safeguards the population and national heritage, while also engaging in proactive measures such as risk prevention, enforcement of emergency plans, public awareness campaigns, and the development of alert systems with relevant organizations. Furthermore, it conducts and promotes studies and research concerning disasters and risk management.
