Celebrating a Historic Alliance

On Thursday, the High Commission for Former Resistance Fighters and Members of the Liberation Army commemorated the 73rd anniversary of the King and People’s Revolution at the National Space for Historical Memory of Resistance and Liberation in Rabat. During this significant event, Mustapha El Ktiri, the High Commissioner, emphasized that the King and People’s Revolution represents a historical saga that showcases the harmonious relationship between the glorious Alaouite Throne and the Moroccan people in their quest for freedom, independence, and the unity of the Kingdom.

In his remarks, Mr. El Ktiri highlighted that as we celebrate this glorious anniversary, we honor the steadfast and unwavering positions of loyal men who have never hesitated to respond to the call of the nation. They have demonstrated their national commitment with courage, nobility, determination, perseverance, selflessness, and dedication. This commemoration serves as an opportunity for younger generations to draw lessons from this national epic, to strengthen their love for their homeland, and to instill in them patriotic values and a sense of citizenship while preparing them to face present and future challenges.

Reinforcing National Identity and Territorial Integrity

Additionally, this event is significant for highlighting the primary national cause, namely the sacred issue of territorial integrity. It underscores the continuous mobilization of the resistance family and the Liberation Army, alongside all components of Moroccan society, and reflects the national consensus behind His Majesty King Mohammed VI in defending the Kingdom's territorial integrity and consolidating national achievements.

Mr. El Ktiri remarked that October 31, 2025, marked a historical victory following the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797, which supports the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy to facilitate and conduct negotiations based on the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco as the sole and unique reference for any negotiation aimed at achieving a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable solution. He also praised the growing international support for Morocco’s autonomy initiative, as well as the evolving positions of several countries in favor of a realistic, serious, and credible political solution within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty.

He noted that numerous countries from five continents have announced the withdrawal of their recognition of the pseudo-separatist entity and their support for the autonomy initiative as a serious and credible basis for resolving the artificial dispute. The event featured speeches, presentations, and testimonies regarding this major historical event, as well as tributes to twelve former resistance fighters and members of the Liberation Army, along with the distribution of financial and social aid to several former resistance fighters and members of the Liberation Army, as well as to the widows of the deceased among them from the prefectures of Rabat and Salé.
