Competition Council Opens Inquiry into B. Invest Holding's Entry into the Management of Wydad Casablanca

Competition Council Initiates Investigation into B. Invest Holding's Role in Moroccan Football Club Management

The Competition Council has announced the initiation of a new inquiry concerning an economic concentration involving the restructuring of the management of Wydad Casablanca. This investigation centers on the entry of B. Invest Holding as a partner overseeing the club, in conjunction with the Wydad Sports Association, which continues to be the primary stakeholder in the current organizational structure. This development reflects the shifting dynamics within the Moroccan football sector, where many clubs are increasingly adopting management models reliant on sports companies and investment partnerships.

According to a statement released on the Council's official website, B. Invest Holding, an investment entity regulated by Moroccan law and based in Casablanca, is part of the Bouzoubaa Group. The company will join the oversight structure linked to the club upon the completion of legal procedures. Meanwhile, the Wydad Association remains active as a sports organization operating under the regulations governing physical education and sports, while the club itself, as a joint-stock company headquartered in Fes, manages its football operations in line with the new sports company model established within the national sports framework.

The Competition Council emphasized that the purpose of publishing this notice is solely to inform the public about the ongoing assessment process. It clarified that the information contained in the inquiry is sourced from the reporting parties and remains their responsibility, not necessarily reflecting the Council's position or its final decision. Furthermore, this announcement does not imply legal approval of the case.

In this context, the Council has urged all concerned and interested parties to submit their observations regarding this inquiry within a maximum period of ten days from the date of this notice, which is until May 4, 2026. This feedback will be taken into consideration before progressing to the legal and economic evaluation phase of the inquiry and making an appropriate decision.
