Extremadura Avante Hosts a Product Table for Agro-Food Opportunities in Morocco

Extremadura Avante is set to organize a dedicated "Products Table" aimed at analyzing the agro-food offerings from Extremadura, specifically targeting the Moroccan market. This initiative seeks to foster connections between local businesses and importers in Morocco, thereby opening up new avenues for commercial and export opportunities.

Morocco, with an approximate area of 446,550 km² and a projected population nearing 38 million by 2024-2025, has Rabat as its capital, while Casablanca stands as its principal economic and financial hub. Other significant cities such as Tangier, Marrakech, and Fez play critical roles in the country's economic landscape. Notably, Tangier is home to the Tanger Med port, one of the largest logistical hubs in the Mediterranean and Africa, essential for international trade and industrial establishment.

Morocco is organized into 12 regions and is undergoing a process of economic and industrial modernization aimed at attracting foreign investment and enhancing its position as a strategic platform between Europe and Africa. As one of the most dynamic economies in North Africa, Morocco has established itself as an industrial and logistical hub for businesses targeting both African and European markets.

The country's economic growth is estimated at around 3-3.5%, driven by sectors including automotive, logistics, renewable energy, tourism, construction, and agro-industry. In the agro-food sector, Spain has emerged as Morocco's leading supplier since 2012, accounting for nearly 19.6% of Moroccan imports in 2024. The geographical proximity, favorable perception of Spanish product quality, and existing trade agreements significantly boost the growth of Spanish food and beverage exports to Morocco.

Moroccan consumers exhibit a particular interest in Spanish agro-food products due to their competitiveness, reliability, and compliance with European standards, making this market ripe for exploration and investment.

MADEC, established by Grupo El Eulj in 1958 and operational since 2003, has positioned itself as a leader in the consumer goods sector, operating across all distribution channels and offering high-value commercial solutions. MADEC's strategic focus on logistics and distribution has solidified its role as a key player in the market, continually adapting to maintain a dynamic and comprehensive view of the sector while launching new brands alongside its partners.

For the selection of products participating in this initiative, expressions of interest have already been noted. Once the application period closes, the importing company will select the Extremadura-based companies it wishes to engage with. Extremadura Avante will then reach out to all applicants to communicate the selection results and confirm their availability for meetings.

This initiative is specifically designed for companies with products that fall under the promotional brand "Alimentos de Extremadura." The deadline for registration to participate in this product table is set for June 3, 2026. If your company belongs to Alimentos de Extremadura, please indicate your interest in participating.
