He voiced the sentiments shared by many in his community, stating, "Who gave you the right to exploit this public space? Public property does not belong to anyone, and the street is not private property for anyone to set their own parking rates."

This exchange escalated when Anouri threatened to involve the police, prompting a sudden change in tone from the parking attendant, who shifted from a confrontational stance to one of pleading, saying, "Why call the police? We are just working here and need your cooperation." The incident has sparked widespread support for Anouri's position among Facebook users, many of whom expressed a deep-seated discontent with such practices. Comments ranged from outrage at the situation in Marrakech, with one user noting, "Marrakech is entirely like this," to others lamenting the challenges faced by locals who now feel unable to access the city freely.

Despite previous police operations that have successfully apprehended a number of illegal parking attendants, the problem persists, with drivers still facing harassment and extortion.
