Major Drug Busts in Morocco's Key Cities
On April 13, 2026, Moroccan law enforcement agencies conducted a series of coordinated operations across Casablanca, Tangier, and Salé, aimed at combating drug trafficking and the illegal circulation of psychotropic substances. These targeted actions were specifically designed to dismantle the illicit trade of drugs and the distribution of hallucinogenic medical pills. In a rural area on the outskirts of Tangier, a significant operation carried out in collaboration with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) resulted in the arrest of four individuals who were found in possession of 685 ecstasy pills as well as quantities of cocaine. Concurrently, in Salé, police apprehended a 33-year-old man, known to the judicial authorities, who was caught with 352 narcotic medical pills.
In another operation in the Ain Sebaâ area of Casablanca, authorities arrested an additional suspect involved in the distribution of psychotropic substances, uncovering 691 pills during a thorough search. All detainees have been placed in custody under the supervision of the relevant prosecutorial authority, as investigations continue to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding these cases and to identify any potential connections.
