Copenhagen Hosts Grand Celebration for Moroccan Community
On November 16, 2025, the vibrant city of Copenhagen served as the host for a significant celebration organized by the Moroccan-Danish Forum, marking the 50th anniversary of the Green March. This event was held in honor of UN Resolution 2797, which supports the autonomy initiative for Western Sahara, as well as a royal decree designating October 31 as a national holiday to reinforce national unity. The celebration commenced with recitations from the Quran followed by the Moroccan national anthem, setting a tone of reverence and pride. Attendees listened to a speech by King Mohammed VI, delivered on October 31, emphasizing the importance of unity among Moroccans.
Among the attendees were members of the forum along with representatives from the Moroccan embassy in Denmark. The president of the forum, Mustafa Taybi, and the president of the Investors Association in Denmark, Mohamed Tangi, delivered welcoming speeches, highlighting the significance of this occasion. Additionally, Hanfi Adli, the general coordinator for the Green March celebrations and a representative of the authorities from the region of Smara, praised the dynamic developments occurring on the national stage, particularly regarding the progress of the autonomy initiative and the return of individuals from Tindouf camps to actively participate in local governance within a united Morocco.
Honoring Contributions and Strengthening Ties
In a show of appreciation, Khalid Boudaali, a strategic advisor and international envoy for the African Union, expressed his gratitude to the Moroccan-Danish Forum for their outstanding participation in the Smara International Meeting. He affirmed that such efforts reinforce Morocco’s African dimension. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates of appreciation to several contributors, recognizing their dedication and efforts. As the evening progressed, attendees enjoyed a celebratory dinner accompanied by patriotic songs, culminating in prayers for the health and well-being of the King and for Morocco’s continued unity and stability.
