Soukaina Glamour's Sentence Reduced by Appeals Court
The Marrakech appeals court has made a significant decision regarding the case of Soukaina Janah, popularly known as "Glamour." On September 17, 2026, the court reduced her initial sentence from ten months to five months in prison for public indecency. This ruling represents a notable shift in her legal situation, as she had previously been facing a harsher penalty.
In addition to the reduction in her prison time, the court also lessened the duration of her ban from using social media. Originally, this prohibition was set for three years, but it has now been shortened to just one year. This change indicates a more lenient approach from the judiciary compared to the initial ruling.
The controversy surrounding Soukaina Glamour erupted back in August when she conducted a live stream showcasing lingerie, which triggered alerts from monitoring agencies that deemed certain segments of her broadcast as indecent. Following this incident, she was apprehended on August 12 at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, as she was preparing to leave Morocco.
This is not the first time that Soukaina has encountered legal troubles. She had previously served a two-year prison sentence related to the "Hamza Mon BB" case, which she completed between 2019 and 2021. Her latest conviction comes as she attempts to navigate her life after incarceration, making her current legal battles all the more significant.
