Court Upholds Sentencing of Moroccan Singer 'Boz Flow' for Public Insult Charges

In a significant legal development, the Appeals Chamber of the Criminal Court in Fes has upheld the initial ruling against the Moroccan singer Jawad Asradi, popularly known as 'Boz Flow', on Thursday, June 18, 2026. This decision reaffirms the punitive measures imposed by the lower court, which had previously sentenced Asradi to a three-month suspended prison term, along with a substantial fine of 2,000 dirhams. Furthermore, the court ruled in favor of returning his personal computer, which had been confiscated during the investigative procedures.

The legal proceedings against Asradi stemmed from a series of accusations outlined by the public prosecutor, which included charges of insulting an organized body and publicly disparaging civil servants in relation to their official duties. These allegations were reportedly triggered by the content and dissemination of several of his songs, which were deemed disrespectful towards authorities and public figures.

Notably, 'Boz Flow' was released from the local prison in Sefrou after completing his initial trial period. During his final remarks before the court, he had requested that the law be applied fairly in his case, highlighting his willingness to comply with judicial processes.
