Arrest of the Masked Criminals in Aït Melloul

For several weeks, residents of Aït Melloul, a town located approximately fifteen kilometers south of Agadir, lived in fear as two criminals terrorized the neighborhoods while wearing masks to conceal their identities. This duo, notorious for their nighttime assaults on unsuspecting passersby, seemed to operate with complete impunity, leaving a trail of frightened victims in their wake. However, thanks to diligent investigative work by the police, the two assailants were eventually unmasked and apprehended.

The atmosphere in Aït Melloul was charged with unease as reports of similar incidents flooded the local police station. Victims described harrowing encounters with masked figures who would block their paths before swiftly vanishing after committing their crimes. The growing number of complaints confirmed the residents' worst fears—a single, methodical group was behind the disturbing trend of nighttime violence. The mask, once seen as a mere accessory, had become a potent symbol of insecurity, designed to erase any trace of identity and ensure anonymity for its wearers. Shocked and bewildered, many victims struggled to provide accurate descriptions of their attackers, a situation the criminals had relied upon to continue their illicit activities without fear of capture.

As the complaints mounted, investigators began to piece together a clearer picture. They meticulously undertook fieldwork, gathering testimonies, reconstructing the routes taken during the assaults, and comparing the timing and locations of the various incidents. Gradually, their search area narrowed down to a specific neighborhood known as Aït Ajrar. It was here, after intensive investigations, that the identities of the suspects were finally uncovered. With time running out and fearing another attack, the police intensified their efforts. Every clue was examined, and every lead was pursued with precision, resulting in a swift conclusion to the case. The two young criminals were located and apprehended in a remarkably short time, bringing an end to a series of incidents that had deeply unsettled the local community. The mystery surrounding the masked criminals of Azrou and Tamersit had finally been solved, much to the relief of the residents. Following their arrest, the suspects were taken to the police station for questioning before being presented to the public prosecutor’s office at the Court of Appeal in Agadir, where they were remanded into custody.
