Exciting Developments in Morocco's Agadir Melloul Project
Critical Mineral Resources PLC, a publicly traded company listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CMRS, has made significant strides in its exploration efforts at the Agadir Melloul project located in Morocco. Recent drilling activities have revealed the presence of a potentially separate high-grade silver structure, which adds a promising new exploration target to the already established sediment-hosted copper mineralization in the area. This discovery is particularly noteworthy as it represents a divergence from the previously identified mineralization patterns the company has encountered.
The standout results emerged from drill hole BH174, which intersected a remarkable 8 meters at a grade of 0.58% copper, along with an impressive 147 grams per tonne of silver and 0.26 grams per tonne of gold, starting from a depth of 63 meters. Notably, within this interval, there was a peak at 0.2 meters that recorded extraordinarily high grades of 10.24% copper, 5,390 grams per tonne of silver, and 2.80 grams per tonne of gold. Additionally, hole BH175 yielded results of 1 meter at 0.72% copper and 402 grams per tonne of silver. These findings have excited the company's leadership, as they indicate the potential for a distinct silver target that could operate alongside the primary focus on sedimentary copper.
Charlie Long, the Chief Executive Officer of Critical Mineral Resources, expressed optimism regarding this discovery, emphasizing that it not only broadens the scope of exploration but also highlights the potential for discovering additional valuable resources in the region. However, Long also noted that further geological work is necessary to ascertain the orientation, continuity, and overall scale of the newly identified silver structure. Furthermore, the results from this drilling campaign have also extended the known copper-silver mineralization from Zone 1 into Zone 2, with hole BH160 returning 10.2 meters at 0.72% copper from a depth of 41 meters.
Looking ahead, Critical Mineral Resources anticipates receiving additional laboratory results in the coming weeks, predominantly related to the sediment-hosted copper drilling. These results will play a crucial role in supporting the ongoing Mineral Resource Estimate, positioning the company for future development and exploration initiatives in Morocco.
