Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Unveils the Iconic Mohammed VI Tower in Rabat

In a landmark event that marks a significant achievement in modern architecture, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan has officially inaugurated the Mohammed VI Tower on the banks of the Bouregreg River, as directed by King Mohammed VI. This striking edifice not only enhances the skyline of Rabat but also symbolizes the growing prominence and development of the twin cities, Rabat and Salé.

The inauguration ceremony saw the Crown Prince touring various key areas of the tower, starting with its expansive lobby, where he was briefed on the building's impressive features and the Moroccan artisanal materials that were meticulously selected for its construction. He also explored the dedicated conference spaces and the library designed to serve both residents and visitors.

Highlighting the tower's luxurious offerings, Moulay El Hassan visited a model apartment and the Waldorf Astoria hotel. The tour culminated with a visit to the heritage observatory located at the tower's summit, providing breathtaking panoramic views of Rabat and Salé's ancient walls, kasbahs, and historical gates, each a testament to the rich history of these cities.

Standing tall at 250 meters with 55 floors, the Mohammed VI Tower redefines Rabat's architectural landscape, blending state-of-the-art engineering with elegant design while adhering to stringent environmental standards. This tower is a crucial aspect of the Bouregreg Valley development project, which is part of a larger integrated strategy aimed at enhancing the cultural and urban appeal of Rabat, often referred to as the city of light and the Moroccan capital of culture.

Developed by O Capital Group, the tower houses a luxury hotel, commercial offices, residential units, a heritage observatory, a conference hall, retail shops, and restaurants, all efficiently accessed by 36 elevators. Its robust construction features deep foundations reaching 60 meters, designed to withstand seismic activity and potential flooding, ensuring its longevity in a challenging geological environment.

Moreover, the tower stands out for its commitment to sustainability, incorporating advanced energy recovery systems and rainwater harvesting technologies. These innovations have enabled the Mohammed VI Tower to achieve LEED Gold and HQE certifications, positioning it as one of Africa's most innovative and high-performance buildings.
