CSCA Grants License for beIN Sports’ TOD Service in Morocco
The Superior Council of Audiovisual Communication (CSCA) has officially authorized the distribution of beIN Sports MENA's TOD service in Morocco. This significant move, decided during a meeting on June 16, 2026, aims to enhance the legal service offerings in the region, which the CSCA views as a vital strategy in combating piracy. The license will be granted for a duration of three years, with the possibility of two renewable extensions.
Having been available in Morocco for several weeks through a partnership with Maroc Telecom prior to the announcement, the TOD service offers a comprehensive subscription-based streaming video platform that facilitates both live and on-demand content. It is compatible with various devices, including mobile phones and smart TVs, and features a diverse array of entertainment and sports content through monthly subscriptions.
Moreover, the Video on Demand (VOD) platform boasts an extensive library of movies, series, and documentaries, in addition to a dedicated section for live football match broadcasts, which are derived from linear channels at the time of airing. According to the High Authority of Audiovisual Communication (HACA), the expansion of legal offerings is one of the most effective ways to combat piracy and promote fair competition in the market.
This development marks a transformative moment in Morocco's media landscape, enhancing access to quality content while addressing the challenges posed by unauthorized streaming services. The introduction of beIN’s TOD service is poised to reshape how Moroccan audiences consume digital media, paving the way for a more vibrant and legally compliant entertainment environment.
