This collaboration is set to provide African governments with more resilient infrastructures, enhanced protection against cyber threats, and international-level digital solutions. It is crucial for these nations to gain greater control over the hosting, processing, and circulation of their data while adhering to the standards required by public services, the economy, and future AI applications. Morocco has been chosen as a strategic location that combines technological sovereignty with energy transition, as facilities powered 100% by renewable sources will meet the significant energy demands of data centers. This is particularly critical given the rising energy consumption associated with massive data storage, AI tools, and high-performance computing capabilities. Moreover, training plays a central role in this project, as Cybastion and Cisco aspire to cultivate a 'future-ready digital workforce' capable of designing, managing, and securing the systems that will underpin the African economy, particularly in areas such as cybersecurity, cloud computing, networking, data management, and artificial intelligence.
