Daniel Sanders Dominates Stage 2 of Rallye du Maroc

In an exhilarating performance during the second stage of the Rallye du Maroc, Daniel Sanders, representing the Red Bull KTM Factory Team, clinched not only the stage victory but also ascended to the overall lead of the competition. The challenging route stretched across a demanding 123-kilometer connection leading into a 300-kilometer special stage, commencing and concluding in Zagora. Competitors faced an array of obstacles, including shifting sand dunes, rocky passages, riverbeds, and technically intricate segments that tested their skills and endurance.

The stage kicked off with Ricky Brabec from Honda, who had emerged victorious in the first stage, setting the pace. However, it wasn't long before Sanders, who started second, caught up with him after approximately 90 kilometers. Having started three minutes behind Brabec, Sanders showcased his prowess by maintaining an impressive speed throughout the special stage, ultimately finishing with a time of 3:35:14 hours. Brabec trailed him by 3:04 minutes, while KTM junior Edgar Canet secured third place. Time credits were awarded for opening the track, adding a strategic layer to the competition.

After two stages, Sanders leads the overall standings with a cumulative time of 6:26:32 hours, followed closely by Brabec, who is 2:54 minutes behind. Canet currently holds third position, lagging by 4:07 minutes. Notably, Skyler Howes from ZX Moto made an impressive showing, finishing seventh overall and fifth in the GP classification, despite facing fuel issues during the previous stage that hindered his performance.

In addition to the intense racing, the Rallye du Maroc has been a stage for remarkable achievements, including the historic win of Italian rider Nicolo Bulega, who has secured world titles in both the Supersport and Superbike categories and is set to make his MotoGP debut in 2027. The event continues to draw attention from motorsport enthusiasts around the globe, highlighting the remarkable skill and determination of the competitors involved.
