Democratic Left Federation Announces Electoral Candidates
On September 1, 2026, the political office of the Democratic Left Federation confirmed the approval of the official and final list of candidates for the upcoming elections. This decision came after thoroughly reviewing nominations submitted by regional councils and branches, ensuring they adhered to the nomination procedures. The finalized list includes 47 male and female candidates for local electoral districts across several regions of the country, along with seven candidates for regional lists.
In the local electoral districts, notable selections include Yassine El Fassi for the Al Hoceima district, Osama Benmassoud for Larache, and Abdullah Ahssisen for the Al Fkih Ben Salah district. Other notable candidates include Yahya Bayari in M'diq-Fnideq, Idris Aftis in Tetouan, and Mustafa Chernan in Ouezzane. For the Eastern region, the federation has selected Mustafa Adainen for the Jerada district, Mohamed Kouhkoh for Jressaif, and Mohamed Talha for Figuig.
In the Fes-Meknes region, candidates such as Fatima Zahra Ajmahri in Ifrane, Asma Zaim in El Hajeb, and Abdelkader Kemo in Boulemane have been proposed. The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region includes Khalid Al-Sharif Al-Ayadi for the Gharb district, Abdel Monsef Hnin for Khmisat-Oulmes, and Mahmoud Omar Benjelloun for Rabat-Muhit. The federation has also nominated candidates across various districts in the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region and the Casablanca-Settat region.
In the Marrakech-Safi region, the federation's choices include Said Lamghari in Safi and Aissa A'arab in Al Haouz. Furthermore, candidates in the Drâa-Tafilalet region include Farid Qashni in Errachidia and Abdelali Na'im in Ouarzazate, while in the Souss-Massa region, the party has endorsed candidates such as Issam El Hammoumi in Inzegane-Ait Melloul and Hicham Mouwali in Taroudant. The federation is also actively participating in the regional lists, with notable figures like Jamila Halwan from the Eastern region and Souad Fariqch from the Rabat region.
