Denmark has expressed its strong support for Morocco's autonomy plan, recognizing it as a solid foundation for a mutually agreed resolution to the Western Sahara issue. This endorsement was articulated by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen during a press briefing coinciding with the working visit of Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita to Copenhagen on Friday.
In his statements, Minister Rasmussen emphasized that Denmark aligns its position with that of the European Union, welcoming the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797. He praised Morocco's autonomy proposal, labeling it as credible and a significant contribution to the ongoing international process. Moreover, he reiterated that the Moroccan autonomy plan serves as a robust basis for achieving consensus among the involved parties.
Through this affirmation, Denmark, a member of the United Nations Security Council, reaffirms its commitment to the international dynamics initiated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, in support of Morocco's sovereignty over its territory and the Moroccan autonomy plan.
