Dental Professionals Demand an End to Continuous Targeting
The National Federation of Dental Manufacturers and Fitters has voiced its strong opposition to the ongoing attempts to tarnish the reputation of their profession, citing repeated and unfounded complaints aimed at undermining industry professionals. This sentiment is particularly resonant following a series of recent court rulings that acquitted several practitioners in the field of baseless charges. The federation has reiterated its refusal to accept this persistent targeting, which it attributes to malicious complaints and unwarranted inspections.
In a statement released to the public, the federation called for a responsible and serious dialogue with authorities and all relevant stakeholders to establish clear rules governing the practice. The aim is to create a legal environment that ensures the protection of workers, promotes justice, and expedites the regulation of the profession. This regulatory framework is essential to clarify responsibilities, safeguard citizens, and uphold the dignity of professionals in the field.
The Moroccan Association of Dental Manufacturers and Fitters has also highlighted the recent issuance of several initial court rulings from various courts across the kingdom, including those in Salé, Khemisset, and Qal'at al-Sraghna. These rulings declared the professionals innocent of charges related to the unauthorized practice of medicine, impersonation, and fraud.
The federation expressed its appreciation for these judicial decisions, which underscore the independence of the Moroccan judiciary and its adherence to the law and established facts. They hope that these rulings will finally put an end to attempts to defame the profession through repeated and malicious complaints that seek to weaken practitioners and deter them from fulfilling their duties and defending their rights and achievements.
Moreover, the federation emphasized the vital role played by dental manufacturers and fitters as quasi-medical professions in Morocco since the country’s independence, lamenting the ongoing harassment, prosecutions, and baseless inspections that professionals in this sector face across various regions of Morocco.
