International Sports Court Schedules Hearing for Senegal's Appeal

The International Sports Court has officially announced the details regarding the upcoming appeal session filed by the Senegalese Football Federation against both the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. This appeal concerns procedural issues related to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled to take place in Morocco in 2025. The court has set the session date for Thursday, October 8, 2026, to be held at its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, starting at 9:30 AM and continuing into the afternoon.

In an official statement, the court confirmed that the hearing will occur behind closed doors, without the presence of media, as none of the involved parties requested a public session. Representatives from both the Senegalese Football Federation and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation will be present, while the CAF will be represented by its legal advisors.

A panel of three judges will oversee the proceedings, led by Professor Gérald Simon from France, along with Italian lawyer Luigi Fumagalli and German jurist Ulrich Haas. It is expected that the panel will begin deliberations immediately after the conclusion of the hearing. However, the court has indicated that a decision regarding the appeal will not be announced on the same day, and no specific date has been provided for when the ruling will be made public. The court has committed to publishing all updates related to the case on its official website.
