Diplomatic Gathering in Morocco Celebrates International Women's Day

On March 10, 2026, Dana María Casanova Cuicas, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Kingdom of Morocco, hosted a significant meeting with women diplomats accredited in Rabat to commemorate International Women's Day. This event took place within the premises of the Venezuelan Embassy and was part of the international campaign #BringThemBack, marking 66 days since the abduction of President Nicolás Maduro Moros and First Lady, Deputy Cilia Flores.

The gathering saw participation from diplomatic representatives from the People's Republic of China, Federative Republic of Brazil, Republic of Colombia, and Republic of Panama. These women engaged in a meaningful dialogue reflecting on the crucial role women play in diplomacy and their contributions towards building more inclusive societies. The event also featured representatives from the European Union and members of the Moroccan, Venezuelan, and Mexican communities, showcasing a rich tapestry of cultural exchange and solidarity.

In a gesture of intercultural dialogue and a nod to local traditions, the event included a Moroccan iftar, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan. This not only highlighted the importance of cultural respect but also fostered connections among the diverse attendees. Additionally, attendees enjoyed a tasting of Venezuelan empanadas, further emphasizing the shared culinary heritage and strengthening the bonds of friendship among the participating diplomats.
