Direct Flights from Lille to Casablanca: A New Gateway to Morocco

Starting July 3, 2026, travelers from the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region will have an exciting new option for direct flights to Morocco. Royal Air Maroc has officially announced the launch of a direct route between Lille-Lesquin Airport and Casablanca, enhancing connectivity for local residents. This new service will operate two flights each week, scheduled for Mondays and Fridays, making it significantly easier for travelers who previously had to transit through Paris or navigate multiple connections to reach Morocco.

Casablanca is not just a destination; it is a strategic hub that opens up numerous travel opportunities. For Lille-Lesquin Airport, this new connection marks a significant development prospect, as Casablanca serves as a pivotal point for further travel across Africa, the Middle East, and even to the Americas. Pierre Fernemont, the commercial director of Lille Airport, emphasized the importance of this route, describing Casablanca as an "interesting hub" that will facilitate international travel for the region's residents.

Royal Air Maroc's decision to establish this direct route responds to a clear demand from travelers in northern France, who have long awaited a more straightforward and efficient way to access Morocco. Ticket prices are expected to be around €320, depending on the booking period, which should attract a variety of passengers looking for both leisure and business travel opportunities.

The summer of 2026 promises to be particularly exciting for Lille-Lesquin Airport, as it will also feature several new destinations. ASL Airlines recently launched a route to Djerba, Tunisia, which will operate every Sunday throughout the summer season. Additionally, TUI Fly has expanded its offerings with four new destinations, including Reus in Spain, Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, Oujda in Morocco, and Burgas in Bulgaria. These developments signal a growing trend of increased travel options available from Lille, catering to the diverse needs of travelers wishing to explore new locales.
