Dive into the Rich Cultural Programming at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech This Summer

Experience the Vibrant Cultural Offerings of mYSLm This Summer

This summer, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech (mYSLm) is celebrating the season with an exciting array of cultural programming that focuses on the intersection of diverse cultures and the cinematic arts. The Pierre Bergé Auditorium will host three major film cycles, providing an immersive escape accessible to all audiences, whether you're a young viewer or a fervent admirer of international cinema.

According to the organizers, "From the classic masterpieces of Bollywood to avant-garde cinema, this cycle explores the richness and diversity of Indian cinema through four carefully selected works by actor-director-producer Nikkhil Advani." Each Monday in July invites audiences to discover the multifaceted and vibrant world of Indian film, which remains relatively unknown despite being the largest film industry in the world in terms of production. Whether it’s the flamboyant melodramas of Mumbai, the profound narratives of Malayalam cinema, social dramas, or experimental films, each screening promises a unique cinematic experience.

Family-Friendly Screenings and Celebrating African Cinemas

The Pierre Bergé Auditorium also welcomes families and young audiences with a curated selection of films that feature some of the most iconic references in global cinema. From the French New Wave to Hayao Miyazaki’s enchanting animations, the magical tales of Michel Ocelot, and the endearing ogres from DreamWorks, there are screenings every Wednesday morning, encouraging a love of cinema from a young age.

In collaboration with the Al Maaden Contemporary African Art Museum (MACAAL), the Yves Saint Laurent Museum presents a film series dedicated to the cinematic expressions of the African continent. Titled “Songs of Insolation, Memories in Light,” this programming showcases works that powerfully and poetically interrogate collective memories, plural histories, and the artistic expressions of a continent in constant renewal. This initiative fosters a dialogue between two Marrakech institutions committed to promoting contemporary African creation.
