easyJet Launches New Routes to Enhance Connectivity Between France and Morocco
easyJet, the prominent low-cost airline, has announced the launch of two new direct flight routes connecting France to Morocco, set to commence in October 2026. This initiative is part of the airline's ongoing expansion strategy aimed at strengthening its presence in both the Moroccan and European markets. The new routes will operate between Bordeaux and Agadir, as well as between Nantes and Essaouira, with each route offering two flights per week. This expansion reflects the increasing interest in Moroccan tourist destinations among European travelers and the Moroccan diaspora.
The airline emphasized that this development is a component of a broader plan to restructure its flight network, which includes the introduction of six new routes. The focus is on establishing direct connections between French cities and Moroccan destinations that are experiencing a surge in tourism appeal, particularly in light of the noticeable shift in travel demand patterns.
Moreover, easyJet has decided to convert its seasonal routes from Lille to Marrakech and Strasbourg to Marrakech into year-round flights, following their successful trial period. This decision is bolstered by the growing allure of Marrakech as a year-round tourist and investment destination.
This latest expansion comes on the heels of easyJet's efforts to enhance its operations in Morocco, which included the opening of a new base in Marrakech last April. With this new addition, the total number of routes operated by easyJet to Morocco will increase to 58, including 30 routes specifically to Marrakech, highlighting Morocco's rising status in the air travel landscape between Europe and North Africa.
