easyJet's Strategic Expansion in Morocco for Winter 2026
On May 2, 2026, easyJet, the renowned low-cost airline, unveiled its winter 2026 flight program, revealing a significant focus on Morocco. Despite the challenging aviation landscape, the British carrier is set to establish new routes and convert several services from seasonal to year-round operations from France, marking Morocco as a key strategic destination. Starting from October 25, easyJet will launch a direct flight from Bordeaux to Agadir, with introductory fares starting at just 50 euros. Following this, on October 27, the airline will introduce an exclusive service connecting Nantes to Essaouira. Additionally, routes linking Lille and Strasbourg to Marrakech, which commenced on May 3, will transition to annual operations. This expansion will result in a total of 21 routes operating between Morocco and France from seven French airports.
New Base in Marrakech and Broader Offerings
In conjunction with these new routes, easyJet recently established its first non-European base in Marrakech, which opened in mid-April. The airline aims to target not only sun-seekers during the off-peak season but also families and travelers interested in its packaged holiday offerings through easyJet Holidays. The winter plan also includes additional regional and international routes, including destinations like Cairo and the Canary Islands. However, it is important to note that the attractive introductory fares do not cover baggage fees, which are charged separately. With three aircraft stationed at its new Marrakech base and six new routes introduced, easyJet is projecting to offer 4 million seats in its first year of operation, with the goal of bolstering tourism to Morocco.
