EasyJet Expands Morocco Routes with New Marrakech Base

EasyJet Expands Its Moroccan Network

In an exciting development for travelers, EasyJet has announced the introduction of new routes to Morocco as it establishes a new base in Marrakech. This strategic move comes as part of the airline's commitment to enhancing travel options and accessibility to this vibrant North African destination. Among the newly introduced routes, Newcastle will see the launch of six additional flights to Marrakech, while Birmingham will gain a direct connection to Agadir, a popular coastal city known for its beautiful beaches and rich culture.

The Marrakech base, which will operate with a fleet of three aircraft, is expected to significantly increase EasyJet's capacity in Morocco, with plans to offer a record four million seats in its first year of operations at this location. This expansion underscores the airline's dedication to meeting the growing demand for travel to Morocco, which has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing markets for holiday packages within EasyJet holidays. The airline currently offers over 70 hotel options in Marrakech alone, including several new Luxury Collection properties that cater to discerning travelers seeking premium experiences.

The Newcastle to Marrakech route will operate twice a week, specifically on Tuesdays and Saturdays, starting from November 3, while flights from Birmingham to Agadir are expected to go on sale later this spring. EasyJet's Chief Executive, Kenton Jarvis, expressed his excitement about the new base, highlighting the milestone of completing 20 years of operations in Morocco and serving over 20 million passengers during this period. He emphasized this expansion not only enhances travel opportunities for customers but also contributes positively to the local economy by boosting tourism and creating jobs in the region.
