New Business Landscape in Fes-Meknes Region for 2025

The Fes-Meknes region experienced a remarkable economic surge in 2025, marked by the establishment of a total of 7,454 new businesses, as reported by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property. This significant development highlights the region's vibrant economic landscape and its potential for growth.

According to the office, the distribution of these new entities includes 4,758 businesses owned by legal entities and 2,696 owned by individuals, indicating a balanced mix of large-scale and small-scale projects within the region. Fes emerged as the frontrunner, contributing 3,350 new businesses, followed by Meknes with 2,440, Taza with 528, and Sefrou with 332. Taounate added 279 new businesses, while Azrou contributed 190. Interestingly, Boulemane registered the lowest number, with only 135 new establishments.

When analyzing the economic sectors, trade dominated the landscape, accounting for 36.21% of the total new businesses, followed by construction, public works, and real estate activities at 21.63%. Various services sectors represented 15.44%, while the industrial sector accounted for 8.30%. Additionally, transportation made up 6.29%, with hotels and restaurants at 6.15%. Agriculture contributed 2.25%, financial activities 1.96%, and information and communication technology (ICT) sectors 1.78%.

In terms of legal structure, single-member limited liability companies (SARL-AU) led the way, comprising 59.3% of the new businesses. This was followed by regular limited liability companies at 40.1%, while other legal forms accounted for a mere 0.3%, and joint-stock companies made up 0.2%.

On a national scale, the total number of new businesses established in Morocco during 2025 reached an impressive 109,644. This figure was divided between 78,615 businesses owned by legal entities and 31,029 owned by individuals. The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region ranked second in terms of new business establishments, following Casablanca-Settat, which saw 33,959 new businesses. Rabat-Salé-Kénitra followed with 13,976 new businesses, while Marrakech-Safi recorded 12,341, and Souss-Massa accounted for 7,513. Notably, Fes-Meknes, with its 7,454 new businesses, emerged as a significant player, showcasing its economic vitality.
