In their second friendly match during the training camp in Morocco, the Egyptian football team is set to face off against their counterparts from Marrakech at 8 PM today at the Marrakech Stadium. This match comes on the heels of a recent defeat, where the Port Said team lost to Nahdet El Zamanara with a score of 3-2 in their first friendly encounter, which took place just two days ago in Marrakech.
Head coach Imad Nassar is expected to field players who did not participate in the match against Zamanara, including goalkeepers Mahmoud Hamdy, Essam Tharwat, Mohamed Shahat, and Ahmed Wahab, along with some new signings. This strategy aims to assess the technical and physical condition of all players just one week ahead of their highly anticipated opening match against Smouha in the new league season, scheduled for August 22 at the Suez Stadium.
During yesterday's training session, Nassar emphasized addressing the defensive shortcomings and mistakes made by defenders, which were evident in the four friendly matches played in Ismailia and Marrakech, resulting in the team conceding a total of six goals. The team faced defeats in two of those matches against Al Qanah and Zamanara, while achieving victories against Ismailia Electricity and Dibba Al Fujairah.
On another note, the administrative staff is finalizing the arrangements for the team's departure from Marrakech and their return to Cairo, planned for the day after tomorrow. Players and coaching staff are expected to have a day off on Monday, after which the team will resume their final training camp in preparation for the match against Smouha in the league opener.
