Weather Insights and Predictions
Hussein Youabed, a communication officer at the General Directorate of Meteorology, elucidated that starting from Wednesday, there will be a decrease in high temperatures across the northern and central Atlantic plains and in the southern regions. A slight decrease is also expected in the inland areas and the southeastern regions. Conversely, temperatures may see a slight rise in the northeastern region and the Middle Atlas. Overall, the weather will remain hot in the western areas and the Sahara regions, while relatively hot conditions will persist in the northern and central interior plains and the southeastern areas.
According to Youabed, unstable clouds will develop over the High and Middle Atlas and their eastern slopes, possibly leading to local thunderstorms or rainfall, which may extend to the southern part of the eastern region. Low clouds and fog or drizzle are expected near the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts during the night and morning hours. Wind conditions are predicted to be moderate to relatively strong in the Tangier area and locally in the south, southeast, and eastern regions, particularly in the Atlas mountains, with the potential for dust in some areas.
In summary, the weather forecasts indicate that high temperatures will persist in many regions of Morocco in the coming days, accompanied by local thunderstorm disturbances, strong winds, and the formation of low clouds and fog near the coasts. These conditions not only pose challenges for residents but also impact the festivities surrounding Eid al-Adha, making it crucial for individuals to take necessary precautions during this heatwave.
