An Overview of the Candidates in Taza
As of yesterday, the Taza region has received a total of nine electoral lists competing for the five available seats in the upcoming legislative elections. This number is expected to increase as the deadline for submitting candidacies approaches, mirroring the situation in other regions of the Fes-Meknes area, which features 11 legislative districts. The competitive atmosphere indicates a vibrant electoral process as parties vie for representation.
Among the submitted lists is one from the Justice and Development Party, led by Khalid Bouqraï, a former Secretary General of the party's youth wing and a parliamentary figure in the 2011 legislative elections representing the Al-Hajeb district, where he served on the Justice, Legislation, and Human Rights Committee in Parliament.
The Istiqlal Party has nominated its current parliamentarian, Munir Shentir, as the head of their list, while the Authenticity and Modernity Party has appointed Mohamed Amghar to lead their campaign. Additionally, the Moroccan Union for Democracy submitted its candidacy file just two days ago, designating Mustafa Bouraïsi as the leading candidate on their list.
Furthermore, the Progressive Socialist Party has also submitted a list, which is spearheaded by current parliamentarian Ahmed El Abadi. The National Rally of Independents has chosen Khalili Sadiki as the head of their list in Taza, whereas the Left Alliance has nominated Said Tahiri for the same purpose in the region.
Moreover, the Shura and Istiqlal Party has selected Maymoun Toufik as their list leader for the Taza region, while Hamid Kouskous, a former parliamentarian, has been chosen as the candidate for the Popular Movement list, replacing Abdel Aziz Kouskous, the head of the Al-Samia commune, who was initially in line for the position.
