Second Regional Caravan for Educational Guidance Successfully Held in Taroudant
On April 7th and 8th, the second edition of the regional caravan for school, professional, and university guidance took place, aimed at benefiting students from various educational institutions in rural areas under the Taroudant provincial directorate. This initiative is part of broader efforts to assist learners in developing their personal, academic, and professional projects. The event was organized by the Regional Academy for Education and Training of the Souss-Massa region in collaboration with the 'Ilig' Association for Development and Cooperation, which focuses on enhancing the quality of educational guidance services.
The caravan, themed "Let’s All Contribute to Supporting the Personal Projects of All Learners," encompassed several secondary schools in the regions of Taliouine, Asaka, Sidi Ihssain, Mahara, and Tanzirt. Students participated in informative presentations and meetings that highlighted the various study paths and training options available to them, as well as the opportunities for entering higher education institutions and vocational training programs.
This initiative also featured interactive workshops led by guidance counselors and educational personnel, who provided comprehensive explanations on how to choose suitable academic pathways and techniques for developing personal projects. Additionally, they introduced students to various disciplines and specializations that align with their interests and abilities.
In a statement to the Moroccan News Agency, Ibrahim Ahnouch, the head of the Regional Center for School and Professional Guidance in the Souss-Massa region, emphasized that the organization of this caravan aligns with a strategy aimed at strengthening guidance services and making them more accessible to students, particularly in rural areas. This ensures equal opportunities for accessing educational and professional information.
Ahnouch explained that the initiative aims to provide ongoing support for learners in building their personal and academic projects by creating spaces for direct communication with guidance counselors and educational staff, allowing them to explore various educational and training pathways available in both higher education and vocational training.
He added that the caravan employs a modern interactive approach that leverages digital media, helping students discover their interests and abilities while guiding their choices based on informed and scientific foundations. This approach contributes to reducing school dropout rates and enhancing youth employability in the job market.
Similarly, Youssef Boumahach, the director of the Mahara Loulija Secondary School, commented that this caravan constitutes an important educational initiative that allows students to closely examine various educational and training pathways, enabling them to develop clearer perceptions of their academic and professional futures. He noted that organizing such activities within educational institutions motivates learners to engage positively in their studies and enhances their confidence in making appropriate choices. Furthermore, the openness of institutions to their educational and professional environments serves as a crucial lever for improving the quality of learning.
Fatima Al-Ataoui, the director of the 'Ilig' Association for Development and Cooperation, affirmed that this caravan is part of efforts to support education and enhance equal opportunities, especially for students in rural areas. She pointed out that it provides them with access to accurate information about study and training pathways, assisting them in consciously and constructively developing their personal and professional projects.
She added that the partnership with the Regional Academy for Education and Training of the Souss-Massa region serves as a model for collaborative work aimed at improving school and professional guidance services, emphasizing that the involvement of various stakeholders contributes to achieving a positive and sustainable impact on students' educational and professional trajectories.
Throughout the caravan, various stations featured organized workshops and interactive presentations with the participation of educational and vocational guidance counselors, alongside representatives from the City of Jobs and Competencies and the specialized institute of applied technology. These sessions highlighted available educational and training options, vocational training prospects, and higher education offerings.
Students also benefitted from individual consultation sessions that allowed them to engage with their inquiries related to their personal projects, helping them make informed and conscious decisions regarding their future pathways.
This caravan focuses on an interactive approach that employs digital media, aiming to enable learners to discover their interests and abilities, thus contributing to building their personal projects on solid foundations.
