Significant Seminar on Women's Political Participation
On Saturday, March 14, 2026, the headquarters of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) in Safi hosted an enlightening intellectual seminar organized by the Women’s Organization of PAM in collaboration with the party's regional secretariat, represented by its regional coordinator, Rashid Bouktaya. This event was held in celebration of International Women's Day, focusing on the theme: "Women and Political Practice: From Legal Texts to Actual Presence - Overlapping Testimonies." The seminar provided a platform to discuss the journey of political empowerment for women, emphasizing the transition from legal achievements to enhancing their tangible presence within representative institutions and organizational spaces.
Strengthening Women's Participation in Political Structures
The seminar witnessed a strong turnout of over 70 female party members from the Safi community, showcasing the robust engagement of women in political discourse and their increasing interest in issues related to political participation and empowerment within party structures and elected institutions. This gathering served as a serious and responsible forum for discussing the challenges women face in political work and exploring ways to overcome these obstacles through training and building confidence in women's competencies.
The organizers of the seminar highly appreciated the significant presence, expressing their deep gratitude to the female activists who responded to the invitation, particularly the skilled women who were eager to participate and benefit from the discussions. They acknowledged that some party members were unable to attend and assured that they would have the opportunity to engage with the training content in the coming months as part of a comprehensive training program designed to enhance women's capabilities in political and party work.
The event was further distinguished by the attendance of Kawtar Al-Gharfi, a member of the Marrakech-Safi Regional Council, alongside Tarek El-Hadri, the regional coordinator of the Youth Organization of PAM, along with several members of the regional bureau. This presence was seen by the organizers as a demonstration of support and appreciation for the growing role of women within the party.
In conclusion, the seminar underscored that empowering women politically is no longer merely a demand tied to legal texts but has become an essential need that requires translating these texts into actual presence and impactful participation in decision-making processes. This shift is vital for strengthening participatory democracy and contributing to the betterment of societal issues.
