Evelyn Burdecki's Dream of Settling in Marrakech
The reality star Evelyn Burdecki is embarking on a new journey to find her dream home in Marrakech, Morocco, as showcased in the TV series "Being Burdecki," which airs on Sundays on VOX. Burdecki's desire to settle in a place where others vacation reflects her ambition to create a luxurious lifestyle. For her new abode, she has specific requirements, including warm water, electricity, minimal dampness, and ample space for her family and friends. In a candid moment, the 37-year-old expressed her playful intention to charm her real estate agent, saying, "I want to hug the realtor and sweet-talk him in Arabic to negotiate a better price."
Despite finding the agent, Mark, to be "charismatic," it seems that he struggles to cope with Burdecki's direct personality. During a viewing of the first property, she humorously questioned, "Is it acceptable to stand here naked in the morning?" to which the agent responded formally, "That would be feasible." Burdecki’s reaction showed her confusion, leading her to later reflect philosophically, "You can only look at a person's face and not into their brain." This interaction highlights the unique dynamic between the two as they navigate the home-buying process.
Challenges and Hopes in the Villa Search
Although Burdecki remains optimistic about her potential new home in Marrakech, stating, "Marrakech can really become the place to be," she has set a generous budget of up to one million euros for her investment. However, she was not impressed with the first property introduced by Mark, claiming, "The property didn't touch me," and she felt somewhat confined in the 240-square-meter space. In contrast, her reaction to the second villa was one of awe. With its expansive layout and a stunning garden complete with a pool, she exclaimed, "Wow!" However, she realized this property might exceed her budget due to its four bedrooms and 1,200 square meters of land, even joking about the high electricity bills associated with such a luxurious space.
Despite the challenges, Burdecki envisions a future in this beautiful villa, even imagining raising chickens for fresh eggs, stating, "I love scrambled eggs." She recalled that the agent appeared shocked at this idea but was pleased when he revealed that he had a rooster at home, which sparked a connection between them. This moment made her feel that while Mark was indeed a realtor seeking a lucrative deal, he was also a relatable human being.
However, not all interactions went smoothly. Burdecki expressed frustration over Mark's dismissive attitude when she suggested negotiating the asking price of 750,000 euros for the villa, to which he curtly replied, "No." More troubling for her was the revelation that Mark had only shared half of the information regarding the necessary rental license in Morocco. This breach of trust left Burdecki feeling disillusioned, stating, "The trust in Mark was completely gone."
