Significant Financial Boost for Wydad Fassi Football Club

The elected councils of the Fès-Meknès region in Morocco have announced an exceptional financial support package totaling 18 million dirhams for the Wydad Fassi football club, which recently secured the title of the national professional football league, also known as the "Inwi" first division. This substantial support aims to fortify the club's stability and to continue its development as it prepares for upcoming challenges. The announcement was made at a celebratory event held in the city of Fès, attended by regional governor Khalid Ait Taleb, officials from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the National Professional Football League, as well as club representatives, players, and passionate fans.

Governor Khalid Ait Taleb emphasized that Wydad Fassi's victory, marking its first championship title in over four decades, represents a historic milestone that reflects the collective efforts of all stakeholders involved in the club. This achievement aligns with the dynamic advancements in national sports, spurred by the esteemed royal support for athletics in Morocco. He also commended the nation’s successful hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and its preparations to co-host the 2030 World Cup. Furthermore, he urged various partners to continue investing in sports infrastructure and to bolster the clubs within the region, while also congratulating the clubs from Meknes and Fès for their remarkable performances throughout the season.

In this support initiative, the Fès-Meknès Council allocated an exceptional grant of 10 million dirhams, while the Fès municipality announced a contribution of 5 million dirhams. Additionally, the Fès labor council has set aside 3 million dirhams, bringing the total financial assistance to 18 million dirhams. The president of Wydad Fassi, Mohamed Bouzoubâ, expressed gratitude for this support, stating that it will enable the team to maintain its successful trajectory and compete both nationally and internationally. He also acknowledged the vital role of the authorities, elected officials, and loyal fans, considering them essential partners in achieving this historic accomplishment.
