Exploring Morocco on an EV Motorcycle: A Journey with Marc Travels

It has been a while since we last caught up with Marc Travels, an adventurous explorer of electric vehicles, who is currently navigating the breathtaking landscapes of Morocco on his Energica Experia motorcycle. This particular bike, affectionately named Eve II, is the second electric motorcycle he has owned, following his first, the Zero SR/F—also dubbed Eve. While every motorcycle has its unique characteristics, Marc assures us that Eve II's quirks are quite comparable to those of any traditional bike; it's simply a different experience altogether.

If you've ever been curious about what it's like to take an electric motorcycle across a water crossing, Marc provides a glimpse into that experience through his latest video. While the water crossing featured isn't particularly deep, it showcases the capabilities of the Experia, alongside other small-displacement combustion motorcycles navigating the same terrain. As he highlights in the video, the electronics on the Experia are positioned high and are designed to be weather-sealed, ensuring that the motorcycle can withstand such environments. Moreover, the bike's ample ground clearance means that the motor is only subjected to minimal splashes, with the wheels and tires taking the brunt of the water.

The video predominantly captures Marc's journey through diverse road conditions and stunning scenery around the majestic Atlas Mountains as he makes his way to a hotel where he has booked a night’s stay. The captivating roads and breathtaking mountain views are reminiscent of Spain, a sentiment that Marc himself shares during his ride—a sentiment that resonates with viewers as well. The beauty of the roads he traverses is truly remarkable.

While he encounters more tourists in certain areas than he initially anticipated, Marc eventually discovers a charming spot by the river, where he pauses to park and enjoy a meal. He orders a tagine, a traditional Moroccan dish, and shares that the average cost for such a meal is approximately 120 Moroccan dirhams, which converts to about $13 or €11. The meal looks exquisite, providing excellent value for the price.

Although you may not be physically present to soak up the sunshine yourself, it's clear that videos like these aim to inspire viewers to seek their own adventures and embrace the joy of exploration. Delicious food is merely a delightful bonus on such journeys.

Where do your riding adventures take you next? Will you encounter any water crossings or indulge in some tasty tagines along the way? We’d love to hear about your experiences in the comments.
