Adventurous Trekking in Toubkal National Park
One of the standout experiences during their journey was a breathtaking trekking tour through Toubkal National Park, located in the majestic High Atlas Mountains. The Gocher globetrotters, Hans-Joachim Koepp and Annette Wozny-Koepp, embarked on a remarkable 22-day adventure across Morocco, immersing themselves in a land characterized by its striking contrasts. From bustling metropolises to serene mountain landscapes and the vast Sahara Desert, they encountered a tapestry of modernity interwoven with rich traditions.
Covering a staggering distance of 3,068 kilometers from Goch to Marrakech, the couple benefited from convenient connections through Weeze Airport, which offers direct flights five times a week, all within a manageable four-hour flight time. This journey was particularly special for Hans-Joachim, a retired city archivist and historian, alongside Annette, an accomplished travel author and city guide. Following their previous explorations in the Mongolian terrain, they set their sights on Morocco for personal reasons. Annette, who once had a romantic engagement over four decades ago with a Moroccan named Abdelhay, returned to the land of her former fiancée with a heart full of cherished memories. Although their engagement never led to marriage, the experience resonated deeply, enriching their travels with nostalgia and reflection.
