On Tuesday evening, the Urban Authority team from the Gueliz area in Marrakech launched a comprehensive security operation that targeted various hotspots within the region. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts aimed at enhancing public safety and combating issues such as homelessness, begging, and general disorder on the streets.
According to information received by kech24.com, the operation resulted in the apprehension of 89 individuals, including the homeless, beggars, and those suffering from mental disorders. These individuals were subsequently referred to the relevant authorities and the first and second security districts after undergoing the necessary procedures.
The campaign also covered multiple axes under the jurisdiction of Gueliz, including the vicinity of the Douar Kadiya roundabout and the Al-Saada area, leading to the documentation of 94 traffic violations. In a related context, five vehicles were impounded due to their owners engaging in reckless driving, while eight large motorcycles were seized alongside several bikes whose owners lacked the required legal documentation.
This operation falls under the continuous security and organizational measures implemented by the police in Marrakech, aiming to curb negative phenomena associated with public spaces and enhance the sense of security among citizens and road users.
