Severe Heat Wave Forecasted Across Morocco
Morocco is bracing for a significant heat wave, as the General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a warning indicating that temperatures will soar from today, Sunday, until Tuesday. This weather phenomenon is expected to affect various regions within the country, with the most intense heat anticipated in the provinces of Zagora, Tata, and Assa-Zag, where temperatures could reach between 44 and 47 degrees Celsius.
According to the meteorological bulletin, the orange alert signifies the potential for extreme weather conditions, prompting residents to take necessary precautions to safeguard their health and well-being during this particularly sweltering period. The forecast indicates further high temperatures on Monday, ranging from 42 to 44 degrees, affecting regions such as Settat, Qalaat Sraghna, Beni Mellal, Fkih Ben Salah, Meknes, Khenifra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, and Khouribga.
Additionally, the heat wave is expected to persist through Tuesday in various other provinces, including Khmissat, Fes, Moulay Yakoub, Taounate, Ouazzane, and Sefrou, where temperatures are also predicted to reach similar highs. The General Directorate of Meteorology has also noted that on Monday, temperatures in the provinces of Kenitra and Larache could hover between 39 and 42 degrees Celsius, indicating widespread effects of this heat wave across the country.
