A man, who was wanted nationally for drug trafficking offenses, has tragically passed away at the Razi Hospital, part of the Mohammed VI University Hospital Center in Marrakech. The deceased succumbed to his injuries after being shot during his arrest on the evening of Friday, September 4, 2026, in the village of Brahmoun within the Sidi Ibrahim district.
The incident unfolded during a meticulously coordinated security operation between the regional command and the local gendarmerie. The suspect, known for his criminal background, exhibited violent resistance against the security patrol, utilizing fierce dogs and attempting to escape during the arrest process.
In response to the escalating situation, a member of the gendarmerie from the judicial center in Tamansourt was compelled to use his service weapon, which resulted in the suspect being shot in the thigh in order to subdue him. Despite the rapid medical intervention and immediate transfer of the injured individual to the hospital's emergency department for urgent care, he ultimately breathed his last, succumbing to complications arising from the gunshot wound.
In light of these developments, the authorities have decided to place the deceased's body in the morgue for a medical autopsy.
