Christopher Ibayi Leaves FC Thun for Maghreb de Fès
The reigning champions FC Thun are set to undergo another significant change as they bid farewell to one of their top scorers, Christopher Ibayi. The 31-year-old forward has officially signed with Moroccan champions Maghreb de Fès, marking a new chapter in his career. Ibayi joined FC Thun in 2025 from Ajaccio and quickly established himself as a pivotal player during their championship season, scoring ten goals and providing four assists, contributing greatly to the team’s success.
Unfortunately, the French-born player, who has Congolese roots, has been plagued by injuries in recent times. After discussions between Ibayi and the club, both parties mutually agreed not to extend his contract, which was set to expire at the end of the 2026/27 season. Consequently, this move to Maghreb de Fès has been finalized. The two clubs have opted to keep the transfer fee confidential, further emphasizing the amicable nature of this transition.
