Felipe Aguilar Kicks Off 2026 PGA TOUR Champions Season with Mixed Results

Chilean golfer Felipe Aguilar wrapped up his inaugural appearance of the 2026 season at the PGA TOUR Champions, the prestigious tour for veteran golfers in the United States. The event, known as the Trophy Hassan II, took place from May 21 to 23 at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, Morocco, on a par-73 course. Aguilar finished the tournament in a tie for 38th place with a total score of +2, after rounds of 70, 75, and 76 strokes.

His most impressive performance came during the opening round, where he carded an impressive three-under-par, positioning himself favorably for the remainder of the tournament. However, Aguilar struggled to maintain that momentum during the final two rounds, ultimately finishing outside the top tier of competitors.

The championship title was claimed by Australian golfer Scott Hend, who showcased a commanding performance with a total score of -15, finishing five strokes ahead of his nearest rivals. Hend's victory was cemented with rounds of 66, 69, and 69, allowing him to decisively outpace fellow competitors Steven Alker and Tommy Gainey, who both finished at -10 in a tie for second place.

For Aguilar, this competition in Morocco marks the beginning of his 2026 calendar on the PGA TOUR Champions, a season in which he aims to establish his presence and gain consistency among some of the leading figures in senior golf globally.
