Voters Head to the Polls in Fes
On September 23, 2026, voters in the city of Fes are heading to polling stations to elect eight representatives who will serve as parliamentarians. This election involves numerous political lists competing across the northern and southern districts of Fes. A total of 41 lists are vying for the opportunity to secure these eight parliamentary seats, each aiming to represent the scientific capital of Morocco effectively within the legislative framework.
The northern district of Fes has registered a total of 211,195 eligible voters from various neighborhoods including the districts of Merinids, Zouagha, and Fes city itself. These voters will cast their ballots at designated polling centers across the city, ultimately determining four successful candidates for the upcoming term in the House of Representatives.
In contrast, the southern district boasts an even larger voter base, with approximately 231,000 registered voters. This demographic encompasses areas such as the districts of Agdal, Jnane Lward, and Saiss, along with rural communities like Olad Tayeb, Sidi Harazem, and Ain Beyda located in the outskirts of the city. These voters will also select four additional parliamentarians who will advocate for their interests in parliament.
Among the 41 competing lists, there are 21 in the northern district and 20 in the southern district. Additionally, a regional list will elect ten female representatives from various regions within the Fez-Meknes area, thereby enriching the political representation in this key Moroccan region.
