Fes Leads in Direct Housing Support Program Beneficiaries

Fes Dominates Housing Support Program Beneficiaries

In a significant development for the housing sector, the State Secretary for Housing, Adeb Ben Ibrahim, announced that the Direct Housing Support Program has witnessed an impressive influx of applications, totaling 218,000 requests. Out of these, approximately 105,000 applicants have successfully benefited from the program. During a session of oral questions at the House of Councillors, Adeb responded to inquiries from the Haraki team regarding the program's outcomes. He highlighted that 24% of the beneficiaries are Moroccans residing abroad, while 40% are women and 52% of the recipients fall within the youth demographic, specifically those under 40 years of age.

Furthermore, Adeb elaborated that 60% of the beneficiaries purchased homes valued at less than 300,000 dirhams, indicating a significant trend toward affordable housing. The requests for support were notably concentrated in cities experiencing a scarcity of social housing agreements, which underscores the program's critical role in addressing housing shortages in various regions. The Secretary underscored that Fes has emerged as the leading city in terms of beneficiaries, followed closely by Berrechid, then Meknes, Greater Casablanca, Kenitra, El Jadida, Benslimane, and Settat.
