Fes-Meknes Launches Seven New Tourism Initiatives
The Regional Investment Center for the Fes-Meknes region has officially announced two calls for new projects aimed at developing seven tourism initiatives. These initiatives are designed to enhance the region's territorial appeal, encourage productive investments, and support the emergence of structured projects that can significantly contribute to the economic and social development across various provinces within the region.
The first project call focuses on developing tourism investment opportunities within the provinces of Boulemane, Taza, Taounate, and El Hajeb. This includes investment opportunities for establishing accommodations, ecological tourism, and recreational activities, aligning with the unique geographical characteristics and the rich natural and cultural heritage of these provinces.
The second project call involves the establishment of a tourism investment project on a state-owned land parcel located in the municipality of Sidi Youssef Ben Ahmed, in the province of Sefrou. The Regional Investment Center clarified that this project represents a high-value tourism offering in an area known for its natural beauty and stunning landscapes. It includes plans for a four-star hotel featuring 80 rooms, alongside various recreational and sports facilities such as swimming pools, a water park, sports fields, a conference hall, and diverse entertainment amenities.
This launch of the two project calls, with a deadline for submission set for August 10, follows the first round initiated by the center in March, which resulted in the selection of six projects from eleven proposed, attracting a total investment of 124 million dirhams and creating 164 direct job opportunities.
These investments, set to be implemented in the provinces of El Hajeb, Taounate, and Taza, are expected to establish a new generation of tourism infrastructure, including hotel clubs, classified hotels, guesthouses accompanied by recreational spaces, and tourist lodges, thereby enhancing the allure of the Fes-Meknes destination.
