Fiat Grizzly Unveiled as a Promising New SUV

Fiat has officially confirmed the name of its upcoming SUV, the Fiat Grizzly, during the unveiling of Stellantis' new industrial plan. This revelation aligns with previous teasers that hinted at the name through social media, featuring the phrase "Make room for everyone" alongside snow tracks, suggesting a robust and adventurous character. The Grizzly will be derived from the Grande Panda and will also be offered in a stylish Fastback version, appealing to consumers looking for dynamic design and versatility.

Production Plans and Specifications

The production of the Fiat Grizzly is set to take place in Morocco, utilizing the Smart Car platform that is already in use for the Grande Panda. An extended wheelbase and a completely redesigned dashboard will differentiate the Grizzly from its predecessor. Notably, Fiat is targeting family-oriented consumers by offering a seven-seat version of the Grizzly, which underscores the company’s intent to strengthen its foothold in the affordable crossover segment.

According to the latest information released during the presentation, the anticipated price for the Fiat Grizzly is expected to hover around €20,000, positioning it competitively alongside its French counterpart, the Citroën C3 Aircross. While Fiat has yet to disclose official technical specifications, it is anticipated that the Grizzly will feature a modern 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, available in a 101 horsepower variant with manual transmission, as well as a more powerful 145 horsepower mild hybrid version.

Electric variants of the Grizzly are also in the pipeline, promising an impressive driving range. The electric model will be equipped with a front motor generating 113 horsepower, paired with battery options of 44 or 52 kWh, which will allow for ranges exceeding 300 and 400 kilometers, respectively. This strategic move towards hybrid and electric options highlights Fiat's commitment to sustainability and innovation in urban mobility.
