Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Linux Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the operational conditions of the group’s IT infrastructures. This position involves collaboration on technical and business evolution projects with internal teams and various stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:
- Administering N2 and N3 level Linux servers within Red Hat and CentOS environments.
- Managing N1 and N2 administration of Nginx, Apache, and Tomcat solutions.
- Ensuring the availability, performance, and stability of the operational systems.
- Addressing user-submitted tickets with appropriate technical responses.
- Handling incidents and problems related to system infrastructures.
- Analyzing dysfunction causes and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
- Automating recurring tasks to enhance reliability and operational efficiency.
- Updating procedures, operational guidelines, and technical documentation.
- Participating in solution design with project teams.
- Executing technical tasks related to Linux systems as part of evolution projects.
- Writing operational documents, technical procedures, and activity reports.
This position is ideal for a professional with a strong background in Linux system administration. Desired skills and qualities include:
- A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
- Expertise in Linux system administration, particularly in Red Hat or CentOS environments.
- Understanding of information systems and IT infrastructure operations.
- Proficiency in Unix scripting, primarily with Bash.
- Ideally, knowledge of Python programming.
- Familiarity with web servers and application servers such as Nginx, Apache, or Tomcat.
- Preferably, knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL databases.
- Understanding ITIL best practices is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively within a technical team.
- Self-sufficiency in handling requests, incidents, and projects.
- Strong oral communication skills for effective interaction with various teams.
