FIFA’s Official Visit to Fez

A delegation from the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is set to arrive in Fez early tomorrow morning, marking an important step in the ongoing preparations for the 2030 World Cup. This event will see Morocco, alongside Spain and Portugal, jointly host the prestigious tournament. The visit is part of a series of evaluations conducted by FIFA as they assess the capabilities of various cities to host World Cup matches.

According to detailed itineraries obtained by inews.ma, the FIFA delegation will land at Fez-Saïs Airport on a special flight from Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca. Upon arrival, the members will be transported to a designated hotel located on Mohammed Chouki Street in the Agdal district.

Itinerary of the Visit

Following breakfast, the delegation will receive a presentation from the local organizing committee responsible for the World Cup preparations. This presentation will offer insights into Fez, highlighting its unique qualities and potential as a host city within the grand framework of the World Cup. The meeting will take place in the hotel’s conference room. Subsequently, the delegation will visit the headquarters of the Fès-Meknès region, where they will engage with key officials, including the region's governor, Khalid Ait Taleb. This will be followed by a detailed discussion on the city’s transportation systems back at their hotel.

Adding to their itinerary, the FIFA delegation will tour the sports complex in Fez, where they will be briefed on the stadium and upcoming renovations intended to enhance its capabilities. The visit will conclude with a stop at the city’s train station for an official reception in the VIP lounge, before the delegation boards a train to Rabat, where dinner will be served on board, marking a significant day in the lead-up to the anticipated World Cup.
