In an official statement to the Spanish news agency EFE, FIFA characterized the allegations as "false and misleading." The organization emphasized that Infantino has not made any commitments or promises regarding which nation will host the final match of the 2030 World Cup. Furthermore, FIFA clarified that decisions pertaining to the selection of the venue or host country for the final have yet to be made, with the final venue being determined "in due course" according to FIFA's established procedures.
