On Thursday, FIFA conducted the draw for the six groups of the highly anticipated FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, marking its 10th edition. This prestigious tournament is set to take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 7, 2026. Brazil has been placed in Group C, sharing the spotlight with formidable opponents Canada and Norway.

The group will also feature a fourth team, which will emerge from the ongoing African qualifiers. These matches are crucial as they will finalize the four teams representing Africa in the World Cup. A total of 24 national teams will vie for the coveted world title, with the top two teams from each group and the eight best third-placed teams advancing to the knockout stage, specifically the round of 16.

Brazil is scheduled to kick off its World Cup journey on October 17 at 3 p.m. local time against Canada. Following this, they will face the African qualifier team on October 20 at 6 p.m., before concluding the group stage with a match against Norway on October 23 at 3 p.m.

Historically, the U-17 Women’s World Cup was held biennially until 2024; however, in June of last year, Morocco was designated as the host for five successive editions of the tournament, spanning from 2025 to 2029. North Korea, with a total of four titles, notably celebrated their championship victory last year, making them two-time champions.

Brazil enters this World Cup with a rich pedigree, having recently clinched the title of six-time South American champions earlier this month in Paraguay. Under the guidance of coach Rilany Silva, the Brazil U-17 women’s team is looking to capitalize on its recent success, with two training camps scheduled before the tournament, one in July and another in September.
