New Government Coalition in Morocco

On October 12, 2026, the appointed Prime Minister of Morocco, Fatima Zahra Mansouri, announced the successful formation of a coalition government comprising four political parties: the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), the Istiqlal Party, the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP), and the Progress and Socialism Party (PPS). This announcement followed two rounds of consultations aimed at establishing a stable governmental majority.

Mansouri, who is also the national coordinator of the collective leadership of the PAM’s General Secretariat, stated that the coalition aims to put forward ministerial candidates to create a cohesive and robust government. The newly formed government will be backed by a parliamentary majority consisting of 207 deputies, ensuring a solid foundation for governance and legislative initiatives.

The PAM was established in 2008, resulting from the merger of five political entities, and is currently managed by a collective leadership rather than a single secretary-general. This new coalition reflects the dynamic political landscape in Morocco, where collaboration among various parties is seen as essential for addressing national challenges and fostering sustainable development.
